Lately, one of my favorite things to listen to while working is the Lustre discography. There is a great 5-hour playlist on YouTube that I can’t get enough of. I have yet to order physical copies because finances are a little tight while preparing for this tour.
While at times Lustre sounds more ambient than black metal. I love how when the more depraved metal elements come in, it can sound distant and hollowed. The composition is immersive, the way Nachtzeit layers the different elements is incredible.
I think my favorite is Ashes of Light, but I have not heard anything I don’t like.
